Buford + Athens Georgia Wedding Photographer
It can be so overwhelming to think about all the details for your engagement session. I know how many things there are to think about. So today I am sharing some tips to make the most of your session and take some of the planning stress off of you! There are so many places to shoot engagement sessions in Atlanta and Athens not to mention the surrounding areas like Buford and Gainesville! And, don’t get me started on Wedding Venues! Georgia has so many options for your wedding day it will be hard to narrow down the perfect place for your wedding to take place:)
- Pick Two Outfits– Most couples choose 2 outfits. One casual and one dressy. This is a good guideline, because it will give you a great variety of looks for your engagement photos. I like to start off with your casual outfit and photograph you and your fiancee at the first spot. Then we will change it up and go for our dressier outfit and move to a new spot. Don’t worry all the locations are within walking distance from each other. Choose outfits that you love and feel like you, but leave the yoga pants and t shirts behind:)
- Trust your photographer– If you love the work you see on your photographers website then you can be confident your photos will be similar in style. You picked your photographer for her vision and style and she will work to bring that flair to your engagement photos. This is a great time to get comfortable in front of the camera and just have fun with each other. By the time the wedding day gets here you will feel like old friends!
- Be on Time- This is so important and often overlooked. Photographers need light to photograph their engaged couples. Most sessions take place an hour or two before sunset. If the sessions doesn’t start on time this will limit how long your session will last and how many images result. We will also miss the “best” light.
- Prepare your guy- You, the Bride, have been pouring over engagement photos and wedding images of brides for months (maybe even before he asked? Who am I kidding? Since, we were 13 right???!!!)) And, you know what type of images you want. He might just be planning on showing up and smiling at the camera for 10 minutes and being done. He might be totally unprepared to get cozy on camera, to snuggle, and kiss you! Show him the images you want before!!! Show him some cuddling pictures and ones when you aren’t looking at the camera. Chances are that will really help him visualize your engagement session.
